    The Little Car Show 2015

Pat Kaye's 1972 Austin Mini Clubman. (Novato, CA) I imported my Mini Clubman from the UK in April 2012. RHD, original seat covers. Stage One Kit fitted, group 2 flares, Wolfrace vintage slot alloys(UK), LCB Fletcher header and RC-40 center exit pipe, HIF-38 SU carb, K&N filter. Loved the show last year! I have the J.J. Hildreth "Laguna Seca" print hanging next to the computer and the two awards behind me on a shelf! Can't wait for August to attend again with a few more friends! (998cc, class 1a)

Joe DeBattista's 1964 Opel Kadett Sports Coupe. (San Bruno, CA) The interesting car created by GM to wipe out the VW Beetle. This model is extremely rare in the US with only two known examples in the US. The first year import of the Opel to the U.S. this is an original restoration/preservation. The work was all completed by me and my father with the exception of the interior. There were originally just over 2000 of these produced and they are rare in Europe but unseen in the US. Douglas McCall's 1966 Volkswagen Bug. (Pacific Grove, CA) I have owned this vehicle for several years and have put a lot of sweat (and money)into it. It is not a trailer queen as you might see me driving around town often doing my chores. I live locally in PG and am fortunate to have a tremendous VW mechanic, Jim Fowler who also lives and works in PG. Keeping it local! (1300cc, class 2b)

Cris Baur's 1960 Hillman Husky. (Berthoud, CO) Kind of a 'ratty' car, it's been upgraded with a Hillman Minx drivetrain (hence the 1725cc) front & rear. So it now has disc brakes in front, larger drums in the rear & a more 'friendly' freeway gearing. We live on a dirt road here in Colorado, so pretty paint & bodywork is considered a luxury. It's kind of 'fugly', but has a lot of character-patina. My mom lives in Gilroy & my brother is on top of Mount Madonna and we head out to see family every couple years (for car week) & thought it would be nice to be more 'car involved' for the week, know what I mean? Would be awesome to be part of the show this year.!.! Cheers, Cris (1725cc, class Guest 5)

If you have enough entries in the 1000 cc and under category, we would also fall into the Orphan category, as Austin Healey is obviously not around any longer. Bill and Roxanne's 1959 Nash Metropolitan. (Roseville, CA) Nash Metropolitan was the first American subcompact car and marketed specifically to women. Advanced for a time when most cars were getting bigger, the Nash was far smaller than any American model of the era and looked even smaller than it was. Its shape was more modern than the low-slung long cars of the time. The Metropolitan was not marketed as an economy car, but as an economical premium car. Ideal for a second car. The size was also seen as a way to compete in Europe where traditional American cars were rapidly dying out because of their size. The retail price was $1,479. (1489cc, class 4)

Michael Bascou's 1973 Electra King. (Sand City, CA) 1973 Electra King 3 wheel electric car. The original errand runner. The entire industry was squashed in the early 70's due to fear from the big car companies of the day. They got their attorneys together to squash the little cars on safety features such as seat belts and real bumpers, frames, etc.... this trend could have saved us a lot of ozone. (class 3)
